Dear Student or Parent,
Florida’s colleges remain the primary point of access to higher education in Florida and we are pleased to offer a comprehensive Student Health and Accident Insurance Plan that will provide medical coverage for inpatient and outpatient expenses while enrolled and attending classes at a participating school under this program.
ELIGIBILITY
Domestic Students taking credit hours and CEU students are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan on a Voluntary basis.
International Students are required to have coverage upon arrival in the United States and must carry coverage for the period of time that St. Petersburg College maintains I-20 status-Certificate of Eligibility for the student even if the student is not enrolled in classes.
Students may purchase international health insurance online or show proof of other creditable coverage by providing a valid wallet card issued by the insurance company showing dates of coverage, summary of the coverage and providing contact information for the insurance company or by providing a copy of the insurance policy. The College reserves the right to require updated proof of injury/sickness insurance coverage each semester and failure to provide proof may affect your status at SPC. Students will be required to complete the online waiver form indicating that you have purchased coverage through another carrier and that you waive your right to purchase coverage through the Florida College System offered through St. Petersburg College.
Eligible Covered students may also enroll their lawful spouse, and unmarried dependent children under age 30 if the dependent is (1) unmarried and does not have a dependent of his or her own, (2) is a Florida resident or a full-time or part-time student and (3) does not have other coverage and/or is not entitled to Medicare benefits.
